Seif (pronounced Safe) joins the Platinum Physiotherapy & Reynolds Road Medical Centre Team as a dual-titled Sports & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist as awarded by the Australian Physiotherapy Association. He completed his Bachelors of Physiotherapy at the University of Notre Dame in Fremantle, class of 2009. With a background in Sports & Exercise Science (UWA), Seif then continued his Sports pathway with a Masters in Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Queensland and a Masters of Manual Therapy (UWA) before moving to Europe where he has been working with elite sports for the last 10+ years. Seif has worked extensively with the ATP Tour over these years (the Men’s Professional Tennis Tour), as well as in European Football with FC Copenhagen, the WSL Tour (Professional Surfing Tour), and also in Motorsports in more recent years. Prior to moving overseas and being involved in elite professional sport Seif worked & developed his early Physio career and skills in Australian Football, Rugby Union, Judo, and Swimming here on Australia soil between WA and QLD.
Seif has a strong “hands-on” manual therapy approach, which he then translates into functional movement rehabilitation to facilitate the best possible results combining the two intervention pathways simultaneously. He is a strong believer in early intervention alongside functional rehabilitation to facilitate the best possible long-term outcomes for his clients. Being qualified as a Strength & Conditioning Coach by the Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA), Seif’s early focus on specific functional rehabilitation quickly translates into Strength & Conditioning loading parameters to achieve the robustness & resilience our bodies need to navigate the demands of Sports, Occupational tasks, or simply repetitive activities of daily living.
He enjoys problem solving through complex, long-standing, multi-joint or kinetic chain injuries utilising several techniques and modalities that he has honed over the years. Seif has a keen interest in complex shoulder injuries, hip & groin presentations, as well as early intervention methods for acute spinal presentations that facilitate more efficient long-term healing and progression. Seif also utilises Dry Needling as a conjunct modality in a lot of his treatments with great effect, especially for quick resolution of cervicogenic headaches and cervical related vertigo.
Outside of his working hours, you will probably find Seif getting re-acquainted with the Australian landscape having spent so many years abroad now. Boating, Fishing, Surfing, and a few weekend trips to Rotto will always be on the books!
