Dr Neda Namdar moved to WA as a teenager. She finished her secondary education at Perth Modern School earning Susan Knowles Award for her academic achievement. After completing her medical degree at the University of Western Australia, her initial hospital years were spent working mainly at Royal Perth Hospital with a variety of clinical experiences. She fulfilled her interest in areas of paediatrics and Women’s health by completing a Diploma of Child Health and a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She acquired her General Practice Fellowship (FRACGP) following 18 months of rural GP training . She also gained valuable experience in emergency medicine while working at St John of God Hospital GP After Hours for over 8 years.
Dr Namdar has been practicing at Reynolds Road Medical Centre since 2004. She considers herself a well-rounded GP with skills in all aspects of the field including Paediatrics, Women’s Health, Antenatal Care, Mental Health, Chronic Disease and Preventative Medicine. She keeps up to date with the latest developments in Medicine by attending various clinical events. She also enjoys being involved with teaching medical students and is a regular examiner. In addition, she has an interest in skin cancer medicine managing skin lesions medically or surgically. And moreover she has a passion in Cosmetic Medicine and works part-time in that field.
She believes being a GP is an absolute privilege. The ability to be the primary care provider, patient’s confidant, a helping hand in the journey of life and being able to serve the community is what makes it all worthwhile. Being a mother herself has given her more insight into family medicine. When not working she loves spending time with her husband, her two boys and her pet dog.
